Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is Route One GO?
Route One GO is a single platform for running your trucks — ELD compliance, GPS tracking, AI dash cams, truck navigation and more — all in one place.
What products are available in Route One GO?
An FMCSA-compliant ELD, GPS Vehicle and Tail-Light Trackers, AI Dash Cams, GO Navigation app and more.
Can I use more than one Route One GO product?
Yes. Mix and match any products - start with one and add the rest whenever you're ready.
Can I manage everything from one account?
Yes. Every product runs from one account and one dashboard, so your whole operation is in a single place. Driver applications are separate to download from App Store and Google Play.
Is Route One GO built for owner-operators and fleets?
Both. From a single truck to a large fleet, the same tools scale with you - with custom Enterprise pricing for 20+ trucks.
How do I get started?
Pick a product and sign up online - the ELD plan is free to start, and you can download the GO Navigation app free for 7 days. Larger fleets can talk to our team for special discounts.
What is an ELD and who is required to use one?
An Electronic Logging Device (ELD) automatically records a driver's Hours of Service (HOS). Under FMCSA regulations, most commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers who are required to maintain a Record of Duty Status (RODS) must use a certified ELD.
Read moreIs Route One GO FMCSA-certified?
Yes. Route One GO is self-certified and registered on the FMCSA's official list of compliant ELD providers. Our devices meet all federal technical specifications for data recording, transfer, and tamper protection.
Read moreHow does Route One GO differ from other ELD providers?
Every ELD provider helps drivers stay compliant, but not every provider approaches it the same way. Route One GO focuses on straightforward pricing, flexible options, an easy-to-use platform, and dedicated support. Our goal is to help owner-operators and fleets spend less time managing compliance and more time running their business.
Read moreWho do I contact for support?
You can reach our support team by email at support@routeonego.com, through the help center at helpcenter.routeoneeld.com, or by calling our customer support line. Basic plan users receive priority support.
Read moreDoes Route One GO work for owner-operators and large fleets?
Yes. Route One GO is designed to scale — from a single owner-operator truck to enterprise fleets. The Free and Basic plans are ideal for owner-operators, while the Enterprise plan offers API access, dedicated account management, and advanced analytics for larger operations.
Read moreDoes my company need a USDOT number to create a Fleet Portal account?
Yes. A valid USDOT number is required during Fleet Portal registration — you'll enter it alongside your company details when creating your account.
Read moreHow long does the Fleet Portal activation link remain valid after registration?
The activation link sent to your email expires after 72 hours. If it expires, you can request a new one directly from the login screen.
Read moreCan an owner-operator set up both the fleet account and their own driver account at the same time?
Yes. During driver setup in the Fleet Portal, owner-operators can enable the 'I am the driver' toggle to automatically populate their personal details for both the fleet and driver accounts.
Read moreWhat vehicle information do I need to have ready when adding a new truck to Route One GO?
You'll need the Vehicle ID, make, model, year, license plate number, issuing state, and fuel type (diesel is the default and can be changed later).
Read moreDoes Route One GO automatically send the driver an email with their app login credentials?
Yes. After creating driver credentials in the Fleet Portal, Route One GO automatically sends the driver an email invitation with instructions to download the app and log in.
Read moreWhere can a driver find their Route One GO login credentials if they've forgotten them?
The driver should check their email for a message titled 'Your Route One GO driver account is ready,' which contains their username and password.
Read moreELD
When does the ELD automatically switch to driving mode?
The ELD automatically switches to Driving status once the vehicle exceeds 5 mph. It returns to the previous duty status once speed drops to 0 mph.
Read moreWhat happens if my ELD malfunctions during a trip?
If your ELD malfunctions, you must note the malfunction, notify your carrier within 24 hours, and reconstruct RODS on paper logs for the current 24-hour period and previous 7 days until the device is repaired or replaced.
Read moreDoes the ELD track vehicle speed, braking, or steering?
No. ELDs are only required by FMCSA to record data needed to determine HOS compliance — driving time, duty status, location, mileage, and engine hours. Speed monitoring and vehicle diagnostics are separate features available through GPS tracking.
Read moreHow do I view HOS violations in the app?
Tap 'Logs' in the app. Any day with a red exclamation point has violations. Tap that date and expand the 'Violations' dropdown to see each violation and the exact time it occurred.
Read moreHow do I send logs to a DOT inspector during a roadside check?
Tap 'Inspection' in the navigation bar, then tap 'Send output file to FMCSA' to transmit digitally. You can also tap 'Download PDF report' to show the officer a visual logbook summary on screen.
Read moreDoes ELD location show my exact street address?
No. Per FMCSA requirements, ELD location data shows the approximate distance to the nearest city or town with state — not a precise street address. For real-time precise location, GPS tracking is available separately.
Read moreWhat are the HOS rules I need to follow?
Key FMCSA HOS rules include: 11-hour driving limit after 10 consecutive hours off duty, 14-hour on-duty window, 30-minute break after 8 hours of driving, and a 60/70-hour limit over 7/8 consecutive days.
Read moreWhat are the four duty statuses in the Route One GO driver app?
Route One GO tracks four duty statuses: Off Duty, Sleeper Berth, Driving, and On Duty (Not Driving).
Read moreDoes my motor carrier need to authorize Yard Move and Personal Conveyance before I can use them?
Yes. Your motor carrier must authorize Yard Move and Personal Conveyance for your driver profile in the Fleet Portal before these statuses become available in the driver app.
Read moreCan I change my duty status while the vehicle is moving?
No. The vehicle must be fully stopped before you can manually change your duty status in the Route One GO driver app.
Read moreCan I edit an automatically recorded driving event in my logs?
No. Automatically recorded driving events are locked by FMCSA regulation — you cannot modify the status, start time, or end time. You can only attach a note for context.
Read moreHow do I add a missed duty status event to my log?
Open Logs in the driver app, select the day, tap 'Add Event,' enter the duty status, time, location, and a note, then save and sign the change.
Read moreWhat happens to the original log entry when I make a correction?
The original entry is always preserved. Both the original and corrected versions remain visible in the log history, making the full audit trail available during inspections.
Read moreHow do I add a note or annotation to a log event?
Tap the duty status event in your Logs, select the notes field, type your annotation or choose a preset option, and save.
Read moreDo I need to re-certify my logs after making an edit?
Yes. If the log was already certified, any edit requires you to re-certify that day's log to confirm the change.
Read moreHow do I reassign driving time to my co-driver?
Open Logs in the Driver App, select the driving event, tap 'Reassign driver,' then 'Reassign to co-driver.' Your co-driver will receive a notification to approve or reject the request.
Read moreCan fleet managers reassign co-driver driving time from the Fleet Portal?
No. The co-driver reassignment feature is only available in the Driver App — it cannot be done from the Fleet Portal.
Read moreWhat happens to my logs while a co-driver reassignment request is pending?
The affected day(s) are locked in the Fleet Portal for both drivers while the reassignment is pending. Fleet managers cannot suggest edits to either driver's log during this time.
Read moreDoes a co-driver need to approve a driving time reassignment?
Yes. The co-driver receives a notification in the Driver App and must approve the reassignment before any changes take effect. They can also reject it, in which case no changes occur.
Read moreWhat happens to my log if my co-driver rejects the driving time reassignment?
If the co-driver rejects the request, the reassignment is cancelled and no changes occur to either driver's log.
Read moreDo both drivers need to re-certify their logs after a co-driver reassignment is approved?
Yes. Once the reassignment is approved, both the original driver and the co-driver must re-certify the affected day(s) in their logs.
Read moreGPS Tracking
Does Route One GO include GPS tracking?
GPS tracking is a separate subscription and device from ELD compliance. The Enterprise plan includes GPS tracking bundles. Basic and Free plans cover ELD compliance; GPS is available as an add-on.
Read moreWhat can I see with the GPS tracking feature?
With GPS tracking you can see real-time vehicle locations, routes taken, stops, idle time, and movement history — all from one dashboard. No need to call drivers to check status.
Read moreHow accurate is the GPS location data?
GPS tracking provides precise real-time location data including street-level accuracy, unlike ELD location data which only shows approximate city/town proximity as required by FMCSA.
Read moreCan GPS tracking help reduce fuel costs?
Yes. GPS data helps identify excessive idling, inefficient routes, and unnecessary stops — all of which contribute to higher fuel consumption. Fleet managers can use this data to coach drivers and optimize routes.
Read moreAI Dash Cam
What do I need to use a Route One Dash Cam?
Two things: the camera itself, a one-time $279 purchase per camera, and an active AI Dash Cam subscription — $29 per device per month billed annually, or $39 per device per month billed monthly. The camera runs only on a Route One subscription.
Read moreWhat's the difference between annual and monthly Dash Cam billing?
Annual billing is the cheaper option: it works out to $348 per device per year and saves $120 compared with paying monthly.
Read moreHow do I buy the Dash Cam?
Create your Route One account first, then pay for the device and the subscription in the portal.
Read moreHow do I get started with the Route One Dash Cam?

The Gateway Hub has three LEDs — power, GNSS and cell — and the camera has two. On the connection LEDs green means that part is working, while red and blinking states show you where it stopped.
Read moreMy Dash Cam isn't connecting — what should I check?
Work through four checks in order: power, mobile network, GPS fix, and cloud connection. Each has its own LED on the Gateway Hub, so the LED color tells you which step is failing.
Read moreMy Dash Cam video quality is poor or the view is blocked — what's wrong?
Most often the red protective stickers are still on the lenses. If they have been removed, check the mounting position and the camera angles next.
